Can you see what I saw about netflix?

Well, once again..I was right.

Yesterday I was having a discussion about netflix.

I was asked my opinion of their new name and about splitting up the company into two sections.

My response was, "it's a great idea, dvd rentals will be going out of style and streaming is what's lined up next to replace it.

Holding on to a business model when you can see it's decline coming is just foolish. And if you don't think so just ask AOL. Right now they are a non-factor in everything, when at one time they were the king of the hill. They held on to an outdated business model and now are lost.

With netflix, moving to streaming being their core it's setting them up to ride a new wave of profits. Customers can't see that because they aren't data crunchers. They aren't trying to maintain a multimillion dollar company so they don't have to keep their eyes open for the future. But as corporate profits go...they don't have their eyes on that, but netflix does and they have saw what so many other companies are seeing.

My only issue is the name of the second company.

I mean c'mon. Qwickster. I would have went with something like Qwickflix. Their new name doesn't communicate to me in an instant what they are."

And that's pretty much how the conversation went.

Now fast forward to this morning.

While I'm reading online, I come across a story about how netflix may be smarter than you think.

And you know what?

They are.

Their subscribers can't see it now, but in the long run, netflix will still be around because of their decision about streaming..

The point here is that in order for you to be a visionary you'll have to stick to your guns. you'll get egg thrown on you sometimes for doing so, but in the end...you'll come out on top.

The name of the site finally revealed

Drum roll please.....

The day that you've been waiting for is almost here.

After some relentless work on getting this site up and running I've finally got it to where it's just a few days away from opening.

In the meantime, here is the name with the coming soon page I've put up.

Mobile marketing for the future

The time has come.

A revolution in how you make money in the mobile marketing arena.

Having a site that is not only focused on the mobile movement but also focused on you the individual.

My vision is large, and it will require other people who have the ability to see more than what's put in front of them.

These last two days I've been getting my feet wet with the new software and sharpening my vision.

And let me say this...

We have a damn good foundation to start with. Communication and community are key in what will be a game changing website.

I've seen since I've posted my vision on this blog and it has been read that some sites are already trying to snip off pieces of my vision.

To them I say thank you..

Also, this is a sample of the kinds of education info I'll be including in my new site.

A easy tool to help you become successful

While I've been working on this new website project, I've been able to keep myself on track by really managing my use of time. It's not always easy, but once you get a structure, then any project that you may be working on gets much easier.

Here is the free, yes I said free tool that I use to schedule my day.

They have a paid version, but as many of you will see you don't really need to use the paid version.

One of the things I really like about this tool is that you can set up a virtual office and work with people in different locations. You can assign tasks to members and have them check in when the task is completed or not for that matter.

How does this sound...

One of the things you will be able to do with the new upgrade on the new site is have the ability to create a social learning environment where you and other members can get to know one another, create groups around your interests and answer questions that your fellow members might have.

You'll have a community tab that you can click on and begin socializing with the other members. I'll be able to create smaller more specific groups around topics that are important to your success. For example, cold calling secrets. Or how to price your sms services.

You'll also be able to make suggestions. I happen to personally love this feature as it will help us know what the other members really want to see on the site.

Another thing that you will see is that you will get rewards and badges for your participation. These will be given out to the members. When I say this community will not be like any other community you've ever seen, trust me on that. I believe in what I call the Oprah affect. Oprah always rewarded her loyal viewers and fans, and so will I.

We're Moving!

Well here is your latest update with what's going on with the new website.

We're moving!

Hahahaha...I haven't even opened the doors to the website and already we're moving.

After trying out the membership platform, my thoughts about it has changed a bit. There was just too much trouble integrating the buy button. I tried different payment systems and it wasn't working. When a person would try to become a paid member it just would send you to the members area sign up and not the payment gateway. Worked with it most of Thursday, Friday and Saturday with no answers. Support never answered my questions and after looking in their F.A,Q's section the problem I was having seemed to be a common issue. And even the other people who asked the same question never got an answer either.

It also wouldn't send sign up information to the free members. It would only do that if you had an invoice. When you signed up for free the invoice would not be sent out. That would've meant that you had to immediately write down your password and username and not forget it.

So I've looked and have found a new home for us.

And as it turns out, it will be much, much better.

In fact, here is a list of all the goodies that will be available for the site:

See I don't want to spend so much time on little things that shouldn't be that hard to implement. Instead I want to focus on building up the community and helping the members.

As much as I love our new potential home, it will come at a price.

The pricing structure for the other platform was based on the number of users. For ex.if we had 50 members the amount I would pay would be different than what I would pay monthly for having 100 members.

The benefit of that was I wouldn't have to pay a high monthly fee until the number of members grew, which was a good thing. As it stands now, I'll have to pay a high monthly fee whether I have paying members or not.

So what does this mean?

Well, it means that a much higher emphasis will have to be put on spreading the word about the site so that it can get paying subscribers and I can start adding even more valuable content, data and research reports through the different purchases for the members.

Now I'm off to do a little more work. lol
